Ervin Peitersen
Ervin “Bob” Peitersen, 84, Oconto Falls, died Thursday morning, Jan. 4, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital.
A lifelong Oconto Falls resident, he was born Nov. 6, 1939, to Ervin and Eleanor (Rhode) Peitersen Sr. Bob grew up on the family farm in the Town of Morgan and attended Oconto Falls Public Schools and graduated in 1958. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy.
On Oct. 3, 1981, he married Joan McClure at First United Methodist Church in Green Bay. The couple lived in Oconto Falls all of their married lives, where Bob was employed by the Oconto Falls City Water and Light Commission for over 40 years. He was a member of various hunting and motorcycle organizations including the Yamaha Touring Association.
Bob once served as president of the NEW Coyote Club and Bear Hunters Association. He was also a volunteer fireman of the Oconto Falls Fire Department and also served as fire chief. Bob will be fondly remembered for his love of farming, making maple syrup and helping out his neighbors.
Survivors are his wife, Joan Peitersen, Oconto Falls; five children, Leah (Ian) Willmann, Green Bay, Susan (Don) Greiling, Oconto Falls, Robert (Patty) Peitersen, Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Sally (Mike) Squires, Sobieski, and Jackie Peitersen, Oconto Falls; seven grandchildren, Christos, Yanna, Kimberly, Kristina, Preston, Ian and Eli; one sister, Cheryl Kelly, Weston; one sister-in-law, Diane Peitersen, Oconto Falls; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dean; brother-in-law, Pat Kelly; and in-laws, Ervin and Marie McClure.
Visitation with the urn present will be held after 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of services. Memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Olson officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established.
