Dorothy L. Johnson

Dorothy L. Johnson, age 96, of Gillett, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Dorothy was born on April 24, 1927, to the late Walter and Emma (Lifke) Rasmussen. On Feb. 12, 1949, Dorothy married Alfred “Alfie” Johnson in Menominee, Michigan. The couple were lifetime residents of Oconto County.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Dorothy was self-taught in her accomplishments, including her calligraphy skills. She loved gardening and was known to have a “green thumb” by her family. An excellent chef and baker, Dorothy received awards for her baking. She was an active member of Faith United Lutheran Church. Dorothy was an avid reader of the Bible and enjoyed taking notes in Bibles and gifting them to her loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Alan “Roger” (Sue) Johnson and Keith Johnson; five grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Cronan, Matthew (significant other, Molly) Johnson, Monica (James) Quinn, Zachary (Reshina) Johnson and Bryce (Angela) Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Stephen, Cody (significant other, Hannah), Aidan, Kyler, Gavin, Kensley, Emmie and Eliana; great-great-granddaughter, Chloe; sister, Darlene “Ritzie;” sister-in-law, Mary Rasmussen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; great-grandson, Connor Johnson; siblings, Milo Rasmussen, Lyle Rasmussen, Ronnie Rasmussen, Betty (Erv) Sederstrom and Donna (Clarence) Fabry; brother-in-law, Leonard Sederstrom.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Faith United Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Laatsch officiating. Dorothy will be interred at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
