Dorajean Denke

Dorajean Denke passed away on Sept. 6, 2021, at the age of 78 at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano under the care of ThedaCare At Home.

Dorajean was born April 6, 1943, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, to the late Robert and Mildred (Cutter) Pritzkau.

She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1962 and went on to attend Black Hills State College in Spear Fish, South Dakota, to pursue her teaching career. Dorajean taught all 12 grades throughout the Wall, South Dakota, area.

On Aug. 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to Herman Denke at First Lutheran Church in Wall. He preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 2006.

Dorajean was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. She also enjoyed reading, but most of all taking care of her children.

Dorajean is survived by daughter, Tanya (Michael) Martin, of Shawano; sons, Jamie Denke, of Bryant, and Clay (Kathi) Denke, of Tomah; grandchildren, Nicole Denke and Karl Denke; and several step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorajean was preceded in death by sister, Alice Voyles; brothers, Dean Pritzkau and Robert “Bud” Pritzkau; and daughter-in-law, Shari Denke.

A funeral service for Dorajean will take place on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano at 1:15 p.m.
