Stephany French, 28, of Green Bay, was back in court March 29 for a final pre-trial conference in relation to an alleged drug homicide on Sept. 3, 2021.

On Feb. 1, 2022, French was charged with one count of first-degree reckless homicide by delivering drugs, one count of manufacturing or delivering less than three grams of heroin, one count of manufacturing or delivering less than or equal to three grams of amphetamine, one count of theft of movable property from a person or corpse and one misdemeanor count of duty to aid a victim or report a crime in connection with a drug overdose of at man at the Mohican Northstar Casino Resort in the Town of Bartleme.

French appeared in the court room, with attorney Eric Maciolek appearing via Zoom. To open the final pre-trial, Maciolek requested that the case be brought to a jury trial.

“There is all kinds of video to be shown and those kinds of things,” such as toxicology, said District Attorney Greg Parker.

Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court Judge Katherine Sloma approved the request for the jury trial. Maciolek requested that the jury trial be a week long. A jury trial was scheduled starting Dec. 18. Sloma also scheduled a status conference for July 26 and a final pre-trial for Dec. 6.
