David was born on Jan. 24, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William and Norma (Gorski) Blythin. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1981, then received his bachelor’s degree in natural resources from Carthage College in 1985. While in Kenosha, David was employed by the DNR, where he thoroughly enjoyed his work.

After returning to Shawano to raise his family, he was employed for a short time at Reinhart Foodservice before going on to become purchasing manager at Aarrowcast for several years.

After moving and spending eight memorable and heartfelt years in Minneapolis, David once again returned to Shawano where he was currently employed at Northwoods. The previous owner describes him as a “consummate professional, always caring deeply for his customers and co-workers’ well-being. Compassion and empathy were hallmarks of his personality.”

David loved spending time outdoors whether it was hunting on family property, fishing trips to the Brule River or golfing with his son. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing in a Wednesday night basketball league with his good friends. He always had a good sense of humor joking around with friends and enjoying his son’s dog, Woodford aka “Knucklehead,” The most important part of David’s life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a proud dad and grandpa and loved to share memories any chance he could.

David is survived by his children, Emily (Jordan) Dale, Kurt (Sara) Blythin and Tricia (Nick) Mau; and beautiful granddaughters, Cecile and Alice Dale and Maya and Millie Mau. He was very loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
