Cross-Country: Bonduel teams land in top 10 at invitational

Clintonville boys, Marion girls each take 11th

NEW LONDON — The Bonduel High School girls and boys cross-country teams each finished in the top 10 at the Bulldog Invitational at Hatten Park on Saturday.

The Bonduel girls came in sixth with a score of 154, while the boys took eighth with a score of 209.

Kara Troxel led the girls team with a fifth-place finish in 21 minutes, 3.4 seconds. Kalleigh Schroeder landed in 11th with a time of 21:29.1

Madison Kurey (23:03.2), Breanna Schnell (23:22.3) and Kendra Troxel (24:37.2) finished 40th, 45th and 64th, respectively, to cap the girls team score.

Carter Kurey (17:50.5) paced the boys team, taking 14th place. Jack Johnson (19:09.5) took 46th, while Cooper Uelmen (19:10.5) came in 47th.

Ayden Dunst (19:22.9) and Karter Schroeder (19:41.5) filled out the boys top-five runners, placing 51st and 59th, respectively.

Clintonville also participated in the invitational, with the boys coming in 11th place.

Cameron Mauel (18:27.3) took 25th to lead the boys. Cody Carrico (19:27.2), Brody Prill (20:38.8), Kyle Tennie (21:14.4) and Caedyn Higgins (22:29.3) also competed for the Truckers.

The Clintonville girls had four runners compete, with Kayla Klemp (23:52.4) leading the way with a 49th-place finish. Allison Smejkal (24:03.6), Magdalena Grassl (27:53.9) and Katie Lamberies (29:22.2) also ran.

Marion also ran at the invitational, with the girls team qualifying for a team score and taking 11th.

Nora Wiesman (27:28.9), Claire Dow (30:03.3), Kelsey Zillmer (30:38.7), Haiyle Larson (32:19.3) and Hannah Krueger (34:17) ran for the girls.

Jaden Stuhr (20:46.2), Ethan Pockat (20:47.8), Isaiah Gueths (21:06.8) and Jack VanKooy (30:31.4) represented the Marion boys.
