Cross-Country: Bonduel girls win Rosholt Invite

ROSHOLT — The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team won the Rosholt Invite on Thursday, with four runners placing in the top 10.

The girls team earned a team score of 30, just ahead of Rosholt (43).

Kara Troxel led the way, taking second in 20 minutes, 49.96 seconds, while Madison Kurey was fifth in 22:13.84. Kalleigh Schroeder (22:33.43) and Breanna Schnell (22:34.46) took seventh and eighth, respectively. Jessica Ewing (23:44.82) rounded out the team score, placing 17th.

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys took third with a score of 91, behind Stevens Point (60) and Pacelli (73).

The boys were paced by Cole Schairer (17:39.93) and Wyatt Dickman (17:46.05), who took sixth and eighth, respectively. Simon Schairer (18:25.05) came in 20th, while Brendan Resch (18:52.7) and Ian Resch (19:05.49) capped the team’s top-five runners.

Four girls ran for Witt-Birn, not qualifying the group for a team score.

Jenna Stone (21:42.2) and Ruby Nowinsky (22:24.56) led the way, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively. Annika Resch (22:45.24) placed 11th and Lauren Dombeck (24:13.86) 23rd.

Bonduel’s boys team placed fourth with a score of 97. Carter Kurey (17:32.49) took fifth to lead the way.

Bonduel’s Cooper Uelmen (18:18.38), Ayden Dunst (18:32.45), William Beaumier (18:34.26) and Jack Johnson (18:41.54) all finished inside the top 30.

The Clintonville girls came in third, while the boys took sixth.

Jasmine Wilson (22:43.94) and Kayla Klemp (22:50.12) placed 10th and 12th, respectively, to lead the girls, while Allison Smejkal (23:49.7) was 19th. Magdalena Grassl (27:01.17) and Katie Lamberies (28:35.48) round out the team.

Jesse Wilson (17:19.88) took third, while Cameron Mauel (17:45.95) came in seventh for the top-two finishers on the boys team. Cody Carrico (19:11.93), Casey Ploederl (19:45.76) and Brody Prill (19:59.09) capped the team score.

Menominee Indian also competed in the invite, with the boys team taking seventh.

Isaiah Moss (18:06.61) led the boys with a 15th-place finish. Ashton Corn (18:49.3), Joshua Besaw (21:51.55), Jamison Besaw (23:06.97) and Lloyd Reevis (23:17.19) filled out the team’s top-five finishers.

Emma Komanekin (23:04.35) and Mimi Beaulieu-Morgan (23:53.67) ran for the Menominee Indian girls, taking 13th and 20th, respectively.

Marion also qualified for team scores on the girls and boys side.

Nora Wiesman (26:29.57), Claire Dow (28:31.5), Haiyle Larson (28:31.78), Kelsey Zillmer (29:42.77) and Hannah Krueger (30:35.27) were the top-five runners for the girls.

Ethan Pockat (20:15.48), Isaiah Gueths (20:22.18), Jaden Stuhr (21:30.78), Gavin James (26:03.32) and Jack VanKooy (26:06.91) formed the boys team.
