Recent proceedings in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court:

• Benjamin J. Van Oss, 40, of Shawano, was charged Oct. 7 with a felony count of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim that allegedly occurred in the town of Wescott on Oct. 5. He could face a maximum possible penalty of 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine if found guilty. Van Oss posted a $7,500 cash bond set by Judge William Kussel Jr. and is due back in court for an adjourned initial appearance Oct. 21.

• Charles C. Cutting, 39, of Tigerton, was charged Oct. 7 with felony counts of child abuse-intentionally causing harm and strangulation and suffocation. He could face a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 fine on each count of found guilty. Cutting posted a $5,000 cash bond set by Judge William Kussel Jr. and is scheduled for an adjourned initial court appearance Oct. 14.

• David A. Dedolph, 46, of Tigerton, was charged Oct. 7 with fifth-offense operating while intoxicated after he was found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle in the lane of traffic on U.S. Highway 45 in the town of Morris on Oct. 6, according to the criminal complaint. He could face a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted. Dedolph posted a $2,500 cash bond set by Judge William Kussel Jr. and was due back in court for an adjourned initial appearance Oct. 14.

• Michael D. Shephard, 60, of Bowler, was charged Oct. 7 with a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He could face a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted. Shephard is free on a $1,000 signature bond set by Judge William Kussel Jr. and is scheduled for an adjourned initial appearance Nov. 11.

• Leann M. Brunette, 39, of Bonduel, was sentenced by Judge William Kussel Jr. on Oct. 7 to six months in jail with work release privileges as a condition of three years’ probation on a felony count of theft. Brunette had been accused of stealing more than $10,000 while serving as legal guardian for an elderly woman at the Maple Lane nursing home. She pleaded no contest to the charge. A restitution hearing is scheduled for Dec. 20.

• Robert P. Dodge, 25, of Shawano, was charged Oct. 4 with felony counts of threat to a law enforcement officer and attempted battery to a law enforcement officer. He could face a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count of convicted. Dodge is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Nov. 11.

• Scott J. Meyer, 46, of Oshkosh, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck on Oct. 4 to 1½ years in prison and 1½ years extended supervision on a felony count of causing a child to view sexual activity. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender. Meyer had pleaded no contest to the charge.

• William J. Brown, 33, of Green Bay, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck on Oct. 3 to eight months in county jail with work release privileges as a condition of two years’ probation on a felony count of fleeing an officer in a vehicle that occurred on Nov. 11, 2018. Brown had pleaded no contest to the charge.

• Zachary J. Fossum, 27, of Shawano, was sentenced by Judge William Kussel Jr. on Oct. 3 to 10 months in jail as a condition of three years’ probation on a felony count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Fossum had pleaded no contest to the charge.

• Amy M. Ghent, 40, of Shawano, was charged Oct. 3 with a felony count of maintaining a drug trafficking place. She could face a maximum 3 1/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty. She is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 28.

• Ashley L. Deangelis, 34, of Schofield, was charged Oct. 2 with felony counts of fleeing an officer in a vehicle and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. She could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine for reckless endangerment and 3½ years and a $10,000 fine for fleeing if found guilty. She is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 28.
