Bay College

Menominee Indian graduate Richard Wayka put together several solid games at the plate before the rest of the Bay College baseball team’s Florida trip was canceled because of the coronavirus.

In a 16-0 loss to ASA College (Miami) on March 10, Wayka drew a walk in his lone plate appearance.

On March 11, Wayka drove in a run and later scored in a 16-6 loss to College of Lake County (Illinois). The freshman had two hits, scored twice and drove in one run in Bay’s 17-5 win over Nyack College (New York) later in the day.

Wayka doubled during the team’s 16-2 loss to Hagerstown Community College (Maryland) on March 12.

The National Junior College Athletic Association, the league in which Bay College competes, suspended all competition through at least April 3.

Northland College

Bowler graduate Jodi Wolf drew a walk during the Northland College softball team’s 7-4 loss to Augsburg University (Minnesota) on March 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The rest of the team’s season was canceled due to the coronavirus.
