College Highlights (Jan. 15)

UW-Green Bay

Bonduel High School graduate Clare Martell competed in three events for the UW-Green Bay women’s swim team in its 174-125 dual win over Northern Michigan on Jan. 11.

As an individual, Martell placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, posting times of 1 minutes, 7.91 seconds and 2:28.33, respectively.

She was also on the third-place finishing 400 medley relay team that posted a time of 4:02.11.

St. Norbert

Shawano graduate Jeffrey Green swam in a pair of events for the St. Norbert College men’s swim team in a 110-90 dual win over UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 11.

Green placed third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.9.

The sophomore finished sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.13).

Saginaw Valley State

Shawano graduate Tori DePerry filled up the stat sheet in a pair of games over the past week for the Saginaw Valley State University women’s basketball team.

In an 82-77 loss to Ferris State on Jan. 11, DePerry scored six points, grabbed five rebounds and stole a pass in 15 minutes of game action. She made two shots from the floor and two free throws.

In SVSU’s 59-41 win over Lake Superior State on Jan. 9, the freshman scored five points while also tallying three rebounds, a steal and a block in 18 minutes. DePerry knocked down a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws for her points.

Utah State Eastern

Gresham graduate Christian Haffner scored five points for the Utah State Eastern men’s basketball team in its 71-56 loss to Snow College on Jan. 9.

Haffner knocked down a 3-pointer and one other shot from the field for his points. He played 22 minutes off the bench.

Wausau

Gresham graduate Drew Haffner tallied six points and helped the Wausau Huskies claim a 105-96 win over the Manitowoc Blue Devils on Jan. 8.

Haffner hit three shots in the game and assisted on two other baskets.
