College Highlights (Feb. 24)

St. Cloud State University

Pulaski High School graduate Jasmine Litt played in two games for the St. Cloud State women’s basketball team last week.

Litt posted 12 points, five rebounds and a steal across 20 minutes in a win over Minnesota-Crookston on Feb. 18. She played a minute in the team’s loss to Bemidji State on Feb. 16.

Wisconsin Lutheran College

Bonduel grad Kara Troxel started in both of the Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s basketball team’s games last week.

Troxel totaled six points, two boards and three steals across 29 minutes during a loss to St. Norbert on Feb. 15. She contributed nine points and a steal across 23 minutes in a win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Feb. 18.

Pulaski grad Trevor Stiede played in both of the WLC men’s basketball team’s games last week.

Stiede started and played 20 minutes in a win over Cardinal Stritch on Feb. 14, tallying six points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. He played 17 minutes off the bench in a victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Feb. 18, posting 11 points, six boards and a steal.

Pulaski grad Connor Heezen and his doubles partner, Matt Bass, lost a No. 3 doubles match during the WLC men’s tennis team’s dual win over Wartburg on Feb. 18.

St. Norbert College

Lena graduate Kennedy Marquardt and Oconto Falls graduate Emily Gonnering each represented the St. Norbert women’s track and field team at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Feb. 18.

Marquardt took 11th in the 200-meter dash in 26.93 seconds. Gonnering placed 45th in the shot put (6.82 meters) and 46th in the weight throw (10.83 meters).

UW-Parkside

Pulaski grad Sheridan Flauger played 30-plus minutes in both of the UW-Parkside women’s basketball team’s games last week.

Flauger tallied four points, four rebounds and three assists during a loss to Northern Michigan on Feb. 16. She added five points, four boards, two assists and four steals during a loss to Michigan Tech on Feb. 18.

UW-Eau Claire

Gillett graduate Ryann Wagner and Suring graduate Mitch Stegeman each competed for the UW-Eau Claire track and field teams at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Feb. 18.

Stegeman placed seventh in the men’s 60 hurdles (8.56 seconds) and 12th in the long jump (6.46 meters). Wagner finished 26th in the women’s 3,000 (11:57.99).

Shawano graduate Jacob Lacy played in the UW-Oshkosh baseball team’s loss to Wabash on Feb. 18. Lacy was hit by a pitch and went on to score a run.

UW-Milwaukee

Shawano grad Isabel Roloff placed second in the pole vault while competing for the UW-Milwaukee women’s track and field team at the Panther Tune-Up on Feb. 18.

Roloff cleared 3.65 meters to earn her second-place finish.

Bemidji State University

Shawano graduate Brooke Theis and Pulaski graduate Isabel Majewski each played in the Bemidji State women’s basketball team’s games last week.

In a win over St. Cloud State on Feb. 16, Majewski tallied 17 points and five rebounds, while Theis had a block. Majewski played 18 minutes during a loss to Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 18, while Theis logged nine minutes.

UW-Platteville

Pulaski grads Kayla Lipsey and Eian Ziemer represented the UW-Platteville track and field team at the Sol Butler Classic on Feb. 17.

Ziemer ran in the men’s 200 (24.41) and 60 (7.73) dashes, placing 27th and 33rd, respectively.

Lipsey took seventh in the women’s 60 hurdles (10.2) and 15th in the long jump (4.45 meters).

Saginaw Valley State University

Shawano graduate Tori DePerry turned in two big games for the Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball team last week.

DePerry totaled 14 points, two rebounds, one block and one assist across 36 minutes in the team’s loss to Grand Valley State on Feb. 16. She then had 16 points, five boards, one steal and one assist across 23 minutes in a victory over Davenport on Feb. 18.

UW-Stevens Point

Pulaski grad Lindsey Jossie, Oconto Falls grad Joe Adams and Menominee Indian grad Guadalupe Corn all represented the UW-Stevens Point track and field teams at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Feb. 18.

Adams ran in the men’s 1-mile, placing 10th in 4:36.76.

Jossie placed 16th in the women’s long jump (4.73 meters), 24th in the 400 (1:08.14) and 25th in the 60 hurdles (10.69). Corn claimed 15th in the women’s shot put (12.09 meters) and 31st in the weight throw (12.71 meters).

Northern Michigan University

Witt-Birn graduate Abi Fraaza played in both of the Northern Michigan women’s basketball team’s games last week.

Fraaza totaled three points and three rebounds in just four minutes during a win over UW-Parkside on Feb. 16. She then had nine points, seven boards and two blocks across 17 minutes in a victory over Purdue Northwest on Feb. 18.

St. Mary’s University of Minnesota

Shawano grad Peyton Buerman took part in all three of the St. Mary’s University women’s tennis team’s duals last week.

Buerman dropped a No. 4 singles match and a No. 3 doubles match with partner Ella Boomgaarden against Northwestern on Feb. 17.

Buerman fell in No. 4 singles action against Gustavus Adolphus on Feb. 18. She dropped a No. 4 singles match and No. 3 doubles match with Boomgaarden against Carleton College on Feb. 19.

St. Martin’s University

Gresham grad Christian Haffner and the St. Martin’s men’s basketball team finished 2-0 in its games last week.

Haffner posted two rebounds and two assists against Alaska Anchorage on Feb. 16. Haffner had 11 points and a rebound against Alaska Fairbanks on Feb. 18.

Ripon College

Gillett graduate Angela Mosconi ran in the women’s 3,000 while representing the Ripon track and field team at the UW-La Crosse Indoor Eagle Open on Feb. 17.

Mosconi placed ninth in 11:26.9.

Witt-Birn graduate Lauren Bahr competed in several events for the Ripon women’s swim team at the Midwest Conference Championships on Feb. 17-19.

Individually, Bahr placed 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:03.63) and 14th in the 100 freestyle (56.8). She was on the fifth-place finishing 200 freestyle relay (1:43.36), 400 freestyle relay (3:47.24) and 200 medley relay (1:55.94), along with the fourth-place finishing 400 medley relay (4:15.05).

Concordia University

Bonduel grad Kalleigh Thorne competed in two events for the Concordia women’s track and field team at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Feb. 18.

Thorne earned 10th in the triple jump (9.76 meters) and 15th in the long jump (4.74 meters).

Shawano grad Rachel Reed played in both of the Concordia women’s basketball team’s games last week. She scored two points against Alverno on Feb. 16.

UW-Green Bay

Witt-Birn graduate McKenna Metropulos was busy during the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 15-18, competing in several events for the UW-Green Bay women’s team.

Metropulos was on the sixth-place finishing 200 medley relay (1:46.3), 200 freestyle relay (1:38.91), 400 medley relay (3:55.92) and 400 freestyle relay (3:35.74) teams.

Individually, Metropulos finished 11th in the 50 freestyle (24.03), 100 butterfly (56.86) and 100 freestyle (52.45).
