Saginaw Valley State

Shawano graduate Tori DePerry turned in a pair of big games to help the Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball team to a pair of wins over the past week.

DePerry scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and added an steal in the team’s 82-60 win over Lake Superior State on Feb. 8. The freshman made seven of the 10 shots she took, including three shots from behind the 3-point arc. She started the contest and played 24 minutes.

In the team’s 82-68 win over Ferris State on Feb. 6, DePerry started and played 17 minutes. She scored 14 points, with eight of the points coming at the free-throw line. DePerry also accumulated nine rebounds and an assist.

"I’ve really just been seeing more opportunities to score," said DePerry of her recent strong play on the court. "I have great teammates that have superior court vision and I let the offense work for me. I really wanted to step my game up after two starters went down with torn ACLs and I think I have done a great job helping my team be successful in the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference)."

Wausau

Gresham graduate Drew Haffner and the Wausau Huskies won the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference-West Division title outright with an 84-73 win over the Baraboo Fighting Spirits on Feb. 8. No game statistics were available.

Wausau finished 9-4 in conference play, two games ahead of any other team.

UW-Eau Claire

Marion graduate Kalyssa Watters competed in the shot put and weight throw for the UW-Eau Claire women’s track and field team at the Big Dawg Invitational on Feb. 8 in Stevens Point.

Watters took ninth in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet, 0.25 inches. She came in 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 44-11.5.

Utah State Eastern

Gresham graduate Christian Haffner totaled five points, four rebounds, three steals and an assist in the Utah State Eastern men’s basketball team’s 69-55 loss to No. 11 Salt Lake Community College on Feb. 6.

Haffner hit a 3-pointer and made two free throws in the contest.
