City Cab limits hours, types of rides

SHAWANO — City Cab will limit its hours and the types of rides it will provide starting Sunday.

The city issued a news release Friday stating that “with the continued increase of concern regarding COVID-19 and the continued recommendations to limit person-to-person contact, the City of Shawano and Menominee Department of Transit Services have decided to temporarily reduce the hours that City Cab will be in service as well as limit rides to medical and essential services only. These changes will take place starting March 22, 2020.”

The city said rides will be limited to medical appointments, pharmacy locations for prescriptions, employment transportation and grocery shopping. The temporary service hours will be 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with two vans running, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with one van running and closed on Sunday.

“Both the City of Shawano and the Menominee Department of Transit Services will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will make additional adjustments to transportation services as needed,” the city said. “We will be sure to continue to communicate any additional adjustments that need to be made to the transit services as soon as we are made aware of them. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we do our part to help limit the exposure to our community.”
