Bonduel volleyball team goes 4-0 at home invite

Suring finishes 2-2, while Tigerton goes 0-4

The Bonduel High School volleyball team got its fall season off to a strong start after winning all four of its matches at the Bonduel Invite on Aug. 24 in Bonduel.

Suring and Tigerton also competed at the invite. Suring finished 2-2 while Tigerton went 0-4.

Bonduel

Bonduel opened the night with a comeback win over Crandon, winning 24-26, 25-21, 16-14. The Bears then defeated Tigerton 25-22, 25-10. The team’s third match also went three sets, with Bonduel prevailing 25-16, 19-25, 15-11 over Shiocton. The Bears swept Suring 25-18, 27-25 to cap the strong day.

Allaina Robaidek led Bonduel on the court, posting 22 kills and 32 assists. Hailee Thompson totaled 30 assists and 11 kills.

Kylie Hoffman led the Bears with nine aces and chipped in 15 kills. Nakiyah Henning served seven aces.

In Bonduel’s comeback against Crandon, Brenna Hertzfeldt served three aces. She had five kills against Tigerton and four against Suring.

Hailey Zernicke posted four kills in the Bears’ win over Shiocton. Robaidek filled the stat sheet with nine assists, eight kills and three aces.

Abby Stoltenow had four kills in Bonduel’s sweep of Suring to end the night.

Suring

Suring opened its night with a 21-25, 25-18, 15-7 comeback win over Tigerton. Suring was then swept 25-18, 25-17 by Crandon, but responded with a three-set victory over Shiocton, winning by scores of 25-12, 12-25, 15-8.

Kate Mahoney enjoyed a strong night of competition, racking up 31 assists, 13 service aces and five total kills. Christine Sleeter had 17 total kills, 13 assists, six digs and five aces.

Macie Reed finished with 12 total kills and three aces, while McKenzie Chesterfield added 11 total kills and four digs. Macyn Garrigan also tallied 11 total kills.

Trinity Remic recorded a team-leading eight digs, while Bailey Stuart was credited with seven aces and three attack kills.

Tigerton

After its season-opening losses to Tigerton and Bonduel, Tigerton suffered a 25-16, 25-13 loss to Crandon. The Tigers ended the day coming up just short in a hard-fought match against Shiocton, losing by scores of 25-22, 25-19.

Skyler Hauser finished the day with 16 attack kills, six block kills, 10 digs and 13 service points. Abby Swartz posted 17 attack kills, 14 digs, nine service points and six aces.

Elizabeth Robbins led Tigerton with 22 assists, while also chipping in 12 service points. Jaycee Hoppe-Schmidt tallied a team-leading 35 digs to go along with 18 service points and three aces.

Samantha Suehring ended the four matches with 14 service points, three aces and 12 digs. Leandra Kalwitz had seven service points, while Mary Kreklow assisted on six kills.
