Bonduel girls cross-country team wins Eagle Invite

Suring's Noack, Bonduel's Uelmen earn 1st-place finishes

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 28 to win the Eagle Invite on Sept. 21 in Keshena.

Suring’s Olivia Noack was the top finisher in the girls race, helping her team come in second. Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy took fifth.

Bonduel’s Cooper Uelmen was the first-place finisher in the boys race, with the Bears taking sixth as a team. Menominee Indian took third, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood was fourth and Lena/STAA fifth.

Gresham/Bowler and Marion also had individual runners compete at the invite.

Ashlyn Kurey placed third with a time of 21 minutes, 58.1 seconds to pace the Bonduel girls team. Kendra Troxel (22:39.4) claimed fourth, while Teagan Engel (22:51.3) was fifth.

Joselyn Bohm (23:44.7) and Kaitlin Brooks (24:27.2) capped the team score with seventh- and 10th-place finishes, respectively.

Noack completed the course in 21:20.5 to lead the Eagles.

Georgia Gerndt (24:41.3), Chantelle VanDenElzen (24:56.8) and Hailey Thomson (25:33.3) placed 12th, 13th and 17th, respectively. Samantha Seibert (28:54.5) claimed 29th to fill out the team.

Isaiah Moss led the Menominee Indian boys in action with a fifth-place finish in 19:38.4.

Lloyd Reevis (19:55.2) placed ninth, while Barron Waupoose (20:30.4) was 12th. Francis Delabrau (21:09.8) and Darus Davis (24:05) filled out the team, taking 16th and 38th, respectively.

Emma Komanekin was the lone Menominee Indian girls runner competing, placing 11th in 24:41.3.

Mason Meverden (19:40.3) led the Witt-Birn boys with a sixth-place individual finish, while Craig Wendel (19:48) took eighth.

Owen Schultz (22:28.8), Ian Salvesen (22:37.2) and Hayden Miller (23:23.1) capped the team’s top five, finishing 23rd, 25th and 32nd, respectively.

Ruby Nowinsky (23:51.1) led a quartet of Witt-Birn girls with a ninth-place finish. Annika Resch (27:02.9) took 24th, Ava Hegewald (28:57.4) 30th and Amelia Bessert (31:58.2) 42nd.

The Lena/STAA boys were led by Max Beyer (20:41.7) and Reed Hosking (21:06.3), who placed 13th and 14th, respectively.

Mason Belongia (22:00.9) finished 20th. Norman Aguilar (22:16.5) 22nd and Drake Dionne (22:41.2) 27th to fill out the co-op.

Della Kostreva (25:54.8) was the girls co-op’s top finisher, placing 18th. Megan Shallow (29:17.2) was 31st, Haley VanArk (30:07.3) 35th, Chaela Rabas (30:18.6) 36th and Samara VanArk (31:30.4) 40th.

Uelmen completed the course in 18:45.5 to win the boys race. Ben O’Brien (19:12.6) was the second-place finisher. Race Anvelink (21:37.7) placed 17th, Ben Reisner (24:03.6) took 37th and Keaton Bahr (35:51.9) was 50th to round out the team.

Bryson Nelson was the lone Gresham/Bowler runner in action, placing 24th in the boys race with a time of 22:31.1.

Jackson Krohn (24:51.8) and Jesse Trebus (25:35) represented the Marion boys team, finishing 41st and 43rd, respectively. Bridget Much led three girl runners with a 25th-place finish in 27:13.9. Petrya Bailey (31:46.7) and Kelsey Zillmer (32:03.6) were the other two runners, taking 41st and 43rd, respectively.
