Bonduel girls 2nd at cross-country invite

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 47 to take second place at the Rosholt Invite on Sept. 30 in Rosholt.

The Bonduel girls only finished behind Amherst (27). Individual runners from Marion, Menominee Indian and Wittenberg-Birnamwood also took part in the girls race.

The Witt-Birn boys claimed fifth place with a score of 141. Menominee Indian (165) was seventh and Bonduel (172) was eighth. Marion also had individual runners in action.

Four of Bonduel's top-five runners finished in the top 10. Ashlyn Kurey, Kendra Troxel and Teagan Engel led the way, placing fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Kurey completed the course in 21 minutes, 57.9 seconds, while Troxel had a time of 22:04.97 and Engel a mark of 22:09.6.

Joselyn Bohm placed 10th with a time of 22:48.69. Kaitlin Brooks capped the team score with a 21st-place finish in 24:43.47.

Four Witt-Birn girls runners competed, with Ruby Nowinsky leading the way with a 14th-place finish in 23:03.24. Annika Resch (25:33.42), Ava Hegewald (29:01.16) and Amelia Bessert (31:38.2) placed 25th, 36th and 41st, respectively.

Emma Komanekin represented Menominee Indian in the girls race. She placed 15th in 23:25.86.

Bridget Much (30:54.17) and Kelsey Zillmer (31:31.63) were the two Marion girls in action, placing 39th and 40th, respectively.

The Witt-Birn boys team was led by Simon Schairer, who placed seventh in 17:42.56.

Craig Wendel took 27th in 19:01.94, while Mason Meverden was 29th in 19:23.26. Owen Schultz (20:51.36) and Ian Salvesen (21:54.87) filled out the team's top five, claiming 44th and 55th, respectively.

Isaiah Moss (19:17.32) and Lloyd Reevis (19:31.58) led the Menominee Indian boys team by placing 28th and 30th, respectively. Barron Waupoose (19:35.76) took 32nd, Francis Delabrau (19:42.4) was 34th and Darus Davis (23:27.6) finished 62nd to fill out the team.

Cooper Uelmen was the Bonduel boys top finisher, taking 13th in 17:56.24. Ben O'Brien (18:27.45) came in 22nd.

Race Anvelink (20:17.19) claimed 40th, Ben Reisner (22:50.21) took 59th and Keaton Bahr (28:13.57) was 66th to round out the Bears five-runner lineup.

Three Marion boys competed, with Jaden Stuhr leading the charge with a 46th-place finish in 20:57.69. Jackson Krohn (23:16.48) took 61st, while Jesse Trebus (24:17.45) was 65th.
