GILLETT — Aubrey DeBauch has put together a strong high school career at Gillett High School despite just wrapping up her junior season, already reaching two milestone marks.

After breaking the school record for most career rebounds earlier in the season, DeBauch topped the 1,000-point mark in the team’s regional final loss to Niagara on Feb. 29.

DeBauch hit 1,000 points for her career on a free throw. She became the third Gillett girl to reach the milestone.

“It is a huge accomplishment, and all the support from my teammates, coaches, friends, family and community means the world to me,” said DeBauch, who averaged 15.1 points and 11 rebounds per game this season.

Through three years, DeBauch has pulled down 779 rebounds. With the school record already in hand, the basketball standout has a new goal set.

“I am honored to be holding that record, but my personal goal through next season is to reach 1,000 rebounds,” said DeBauch. “This won’t be an easy task, but I am willing to put in the work to reach this goal.”

As a senior, DeBauch will also try and help the Tigers to another deep postseason run. This year, Gillett failed to reach sectionals for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

“Next year as a senior will be my last season of high school basketball, so the goal is to make it as far into the tournament as possible,” said DeBauch.

DeBauch helped the Gillett girls to a 17-7 overall record and second-place finish in the Marinette & Oconto Conference. The Tigers earned a tight regional win over Gibraltar before being eliminated by Niagara.
