Q: When did your interest in football begin?

A: I started to have a interest in football when I was in like second grade when we would go out for recess and we would get a game of two hand touch football going. That’s when I was like I wanna start playing real tackle football.

Q: What is your favorite part about the football season?

A: My favorite part about the football season is when I get to spend time bonding with my team and making new memories. Also the postgame celebrations after a win are hard to beat.

Q: What did the game of football teach you over the years?

A: I believe football has taught me a lot, a couple examples being discipline, hard work, and perseverance. I had to develop those skill to be a successful athlete and overall better person.

Q: You and your team will be competing in the playoffs in a couple weeks. What is the key to success in the postseason for your team?

A: I believe the key to success for us to win in the playoffs is to execute when we get moving down the field and not hurt ourselves with penalties. Also keep momentum on our side, and of course play fast and physical.

Q: With the season and your football career in high school coming to an end, what has been your favorite memory so far?

A: My favorite memory is from my junior year when we beat Southern Door to win conference. The feeling of accomplishing something our school hasn’t done in sometime just made it feel so good.

Q: As a senior, how do you try to lead the rest of the team?

A: The way I try to lead is to lead by example. I will always try to show the younger kids on the team how to play at a high school level to the best of my abilities.

Q: Do you have any rituals you go through before a game starts?

A: My pregame rituals are pretty basic. I usually just get my equipment on and stretch out while getting in the zone by listening to music.

Q: Are there any specific individual or team goals you hope to achieve by the end of the fall season?

A: There is always one main goal and that’s to make it as far as you can in the postseason and try to win it all. As for individual goals, I will just try to keep on improving myself to try and be the best possible player come playoffs.

Q: Favorite movie, TV show and music artist?

A: Movie — “Greater.” TV show — “Outer Banks.” Music artist — Cody Johnson.

Q: Name one thing about yourself that not many people know?

A: One thing not many people know about me is that my nickname is corn dog. I’ve been called it for years and for no particular reason.

Q: What’s the greatest piece of advice you have ever been told?

A: Some of the greatest word I have ever heard is — The name on the front of the jersey represents who you play for, the name the back of the jersey represents who raised you. Do them both justice — and I just think it means that it’s more than a game.

Q: What are some things you hope to accomplish after graduating high school?

A: After high school I hope to become successful and help out in sporting programs in anyway I can, giving tips or pointers as needed.
