Gresham senior enjoys helping teammates out on court

The Gresham Community High School volleyball team has churned out several powerful attackers over the last few seasons. The player setting those hitters up was often Hannah Cerveny, who is hoping to help her team to a memorable season.

The senior setter already has put together several big matches this fall.

Gresham went 2-0 during an Aug. 24 triangular in Gresham. In a win over Rosholt, Cerveny led the team with 23 assists. Against Gillett, she posted 22 assists.

Gresham earned a 1-2 record in a tough tournament on Aug. 26 in Three Lakes. In a win over Prentice, the senior had 12 assists. In a loss to Three Lakes, Cerveny had 12 assists and 10 digs, while tallying 17 assists in a setback to Mercer.

Cerveny was credited with 10 assists in a sweep of Bowler on Aug. 28 in Gresham.

She has landed on the Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division second team in each of the past two fall seasons. She also helped the Wildcats reach sectionals during the alternate fall season this past spring.
