Q: When did your interest in volleyball begin?

A: From a young age, I always enjoyed passing the ball around with my older sister (Ally) in the yard. She inspired me to join club volleyball in sixth grade and my passion took off then! I have been playing both school and club volleyball since sixth grade.

Q: What is your favorite part about the volleyball season?

A: My favorite part about the volleyball season is the bonds you build with your teammates on and off the court. The girls you play with become family and you develop strong relationships with them. Practice time, bus time, and memories in the locker room are all some of my favorites.

Q: In order to achieve its goals this season, what does your volleyball team need to do?

A: To achieve our goals, our team needs to fully communicate and play together as one. Every member on the team needs to bring their best effort each and every time they step foot on the court. If someone is struggling, we need to all pick them up and keep our energy level high.

Q: Your team is off to a strong start this fall. What’s been the key to success in the early going?

A: I feel our work we put in during the offseason has really helped us the most in the early season. The team worked hard in the weight room, during open gyms/training sessions and really grew together early on. We had valuable time together on the court and off the court doing strength and conditioning.

Q: Do you have any individual goals you hope to accomplish this season?

A: I want to continue to work hard and earn a first-team conference award.

Q: As a senior, how are you helping lead the rest of the team?

A: This year I strived to be a leader in the preseason/offseason and all throughout our school season. I look for ways to help others when needed and provide feedback so we can continue to grow as a team.

Q: Do you have any rituals you go through before a match starts?

A: Before the game, our locker room dance sessions are a must. We bring a large speaker and play our favorite songs to get pumped up. Then we warm up in the hallways and perform our pregame chant that has been used in the volleyball program for years. We cheer so loud during this time that, afterwards, we need to catch our breaths before heading out on the court!

Q: What’s your favorite memory of competing on the Oconto Falls volleyball team?

A: My favorite memory of competing on the Oconto Falls volleyball team is the relationships I’ve made. I have become so close-knit with my teammates that I look forward to seeing them every day at school and spending practice and gamedays with them. We all have fun dancing circles and doing our “moves.” One time our coach started dancing with us, too!

Q: Favorite movie, TV show and musical artist?

A: Movie – “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” TV show — “The Office.” Musical artist – Lil Uzi Vert.

Q: Name one thing about yourself that not many people know.

A: I have competed in showing horses for the past eight years.

Q: What’s the greatest piece of advice you have ever been told?

A: The greatest advice I’ve been given is “everything happens for a reason.” This is something I refer back to as I go through each day or encounter a new challenge.

Q: What are some things you hope to accomplish after graduating high school?

A: I hope to continue my volleyball career collegiately and make a difference at my college and in people’s lives through my profession.
