Aspirus Langlade Hospital awarded Acute Stroke Ready Certification

ANTIGO — Aspirus Langlade Hospital has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Acute Stroke Ready Certification.

Aspirus Langlade Hospital underwent a rigorous, onsite survey earlier in the year. During the visit, a team of reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards including:

• Facilitation and delivery of the most current evidence-based care which includes telehealth to get the specialist, a neurologist, to the patient bedside timely.

• Establishing and maintaining a defined process for treatment of suspected stroke patients throughout Aspirus Langlade Hospital.

• Assuring time-sensitive treatment including medication and transfer arrangements if necessary.

“We congratulate Aspirus Langlade Hospital for this outstanding achievement,” says Nancy Brown, chief executive officer of the American Stroke Association.
