Arvin L. Schrank

Arvin Lewis Schrank, 95, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at The Cottages in Shawano. He was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Wittenberg, to the late Emil Raul and Mary Pauline (Liesch) Schrank.

Arvin enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1943 to 1946, when he was honorably discharged. He served as the mayor of Shawano from 1970 to 1974. He worked many jobs in real estate and insurance. He was also a state trooper and an electrician. On Aug. 26, 1990, he was united in marriage to Patricia Joanne (Murphy) West in Shawano.

Arvin was a member of the Shawano Masons, VFW and the Shawano American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and carpentry.

Arvin is survived by his daughters, Pam (Bob) Bogacz, Sherry (Chuck Bayuk) Schrank, Debbie (Paul) Gustafson and Candy (Chuck Gates) Schrank; his stepchildren, Deb (Steve) Olufs, Mike (Mark) West and Gloria West; grandchildren, Courtney (Matt Atvell) Bogacz, Katrina (Nick) Roberts, Ben (Erin) West, Jeremy (Erin) West, Brandon (Maryclaire) Olufs and Erin (Cody) Ching; and his great-grandchildren Sloane, Noelle, Eila, Ansel and Malcolm. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arvin was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his former wife, Marion (Holtz) Schrank; grandson, Elliot; his parents, Emil and Mary; and his siblings, Vernon, Alfred and Gertrude.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano at a later date.
