GILLETT — For the 14th year the Gillett Public Library is coordinating a “wreath hunt” that encourages families to enjoy time together as they travel around Gillett during the holidays in search of the answers.

Several businesses have wreaths on display, and there’s a question to answer for each one. Families and groups have the entire month of December to collect the answers, and they can win prizes. Many families and friends do this hunt every year, and it’s become a part of their holiday traditions.

An example of the questions they have to answer in this year’s hunt: “Gillett is the ATV Capital of the World, and in the off-season you may see Santa riding our trails. Last year, he broke down near here so he went to Bergmann’s Service Station to have it repaired. How many cars are displayed on their wreath?”

The wreath hunt questions can be downloaded from the Gillett library’s website or Facebook page, and hard copies are available at the library. All completed entries must be turned into the library by Jan. 3. Several items have already been donated by area businesses and are on display at the library (gift certificates to OJ’s Midtown restaurant, prize baskets from the Cracked Cup and Bumper to Bumper, and a light-up Star Wars display from Meunier’s hardware store).
