Amateur Baseball: Waupaca edges Little Falls in epic BABA title game

WAUPACA — Waupaca claimed the Badger Amateur Baseball Association Grand Championship over Little Falls in thrilling fashion on Sunday.

A batted ball by Jake Popham fell in center field to score Wes Austin from second base and give Waupaca a 2-1 victory over Little Falls in 13 innings.

Popham drove in the Lakemen's other run in the fifth inning. Luke Behm and Austin each had two hits.

Cam Seidl earned the win on the mound for Waupaca, pitching all 13 innings. He struck out 18 batters, walked just one and surrendered six hits. Seidl threw 173 pitches.

Chris Dunn suffered the loss, pitching all 12 2/3 innings for Little Falls.

Dunn struck out 19 batters while walking six and allowing seven hits. He threw 199 pitches.

Drew Radies drove in the team's lone run in the sixth innings. He also was the only player on the team with more than one hit.

The title was Waupaca's 16th. The Lakemen got their revenge on Little Falls, which won the 2018 title.
