Amateur Baseball: Dairyland championship set, while four teams remain in BABA

Bonduel will host Hofa Park for the Dairyland League Grand Championship at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Hofa Park finished the regular season with a league-best 11-2 record, winning the East Division. Bonduel finished tied for first in the West Division, matching Navarino’s 10-3 mark.

Bonduel knocked off Navarino 8-5 to advance to the championship game. Hofa Park was a 5-1 winner over Marinette in the other semifinal.

Hofa Park is trying to win the title for a fifth consecutive year.

Four teams remain in BABA playoffs

Clintonville, Little Falls, Birnamwood and Waupaca are still in the hunt for the Badger Amateur Baseball Association title after winning their respective division finals Sunday.

Waupaca will host Clintonville in one semifinal, while Birnamwood hosts Little Falls in the other. Both games are set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Clintonville, the No. 3 seed out of the East Division, advanced after a 23-13 win over top-seeded Neopit.

Little Falls, the top seed in the West Division, blanked No. 3 seed Caroline 6-0 to stay alive.

Top-seeded Birnamwood had no trouble against third-seeded Elderon, cruising to a 7-1 win in the Northern Division Final.

Waupaca, the league’s lone undefeated team and No. 1 seed from the South Central Division, topped second-seeded Plover 9-1.
