6 area football teams make postseason
Six area high school football teams were part of the postseason brackets the WIAA released early Saturday morning.
Pulaski, Shawano, Oconto Falls, Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Bonduel made the 11-player field, while Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy made the 8-player field.
Division 2
Pulaski picked up a No. 3 seed in its Division 2 pod.
The Red Raiders will host No. 6 West De Pere at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Pulaski finished the regular season with a 7-2 record and 5-2 mark in the Fox River Classic Conference-North Division.
Pulaski defeated West De Pere 21-7 on Oct. 1 in De Pere.
Division 3
Shawano made the postseason as a No. 7 seed in Division 3.
The Hawks will travel to face second-seeded Menasha at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Shawano went 4-5 this season, including a 3-4 mark in the Bay Conference.
Division 4
Oconto Falls is a No. 3 seed in Division 4. The Panthers will host sixth-seeded Little Chute at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Oconto Falls posted an 8-2 record in the regular season, including a 6-1 mark in the Northwoods Conference.
Division 5
Wittenberg-Birnamwood received a No. 2 seed in Division 5 and will open the postseason hosting seventh-seeded Tomahawk at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Witt-Birn finished 8-2 on the season and tied for second place in the Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division with a 6-1 mark.
Division 6
Bonduel is a No. 7 seed in Division 6. The Bears will travel to face second-seeded Markesan at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Bonduel had a 5-5 regular season record and was 5-2 in the Packerland Conference.
8-player
Lena/STAA is one of 16 teams in the 8-player postseason bracket.
Lena/STAA is a No. 1 seed in its four-team pod and will host fourth-seeded Florence at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22. Lena/STAA topped Florence 27-8 back on Sept. 2.
Lena/STAA finished 8-0 this fall and won the MONLPC-East title with a 5-0 mark.
