The Pulaski High School baseball team had four players land on a Fox River Classic Conference team this spring.

Senior Jonah Klingeisen was a unanimous first-team selection. Sophomore Kyle Olson made the second team, while senior Logan Hochevar and junior Lincoln Simons were both honorable mentions.

Klingeisen finished the spring season with a impressive batting average of .449 to go along with a .481 on-base percentage. He had 12 extra-base hits among his 31 total hits, drove in 22 runs and scored 12 times.

The senior also covered 17 innings across 10 games pitched. He struck out 14 batters and earned a pair of wins.

“It is a super special accomplishment as all my years of hard work have come together to shape me into the player I am today,” said Klingeisen. “I couldn’t have done it without all the support I received from my parents, coaches and teammates over all the years. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up my senior season.”

Olson was Pulaski’s most-used pitcher, covering 48 innings across nine games and eight starts. The sophomore earned four wins, struck out 45 batters and had a strong 2.77 earned run average.

At the plate, Olson drove in eight runs on 12 hits and also scored 10 times.

“It means a lot to me for getting second team — shows a lot of who you are and the hard work that you have done,” said Olson. “I’m not satisfied with second team though, and I’m gonna keep pushing myself to get first team and hopefully even Player of the Year.

“I will be motivated for the next two years to keep improving not only on myself but as a team and pushing each other to do great things. Pulaski will be better and stronger next year and looking for a state run.”

Hochevar capped his senior year with a .344 average and .446 on-base percentage. He drove in 16 runs and had nine extra-base hits among his 21 total hits.

Simons tallied a .278 average and .435 on-base percentage for the Red Raiders this spring. He posted 15 hits and 11 RBIs while scoring 15 runs.

The junior covered 15 innings on the mound, striking out 11 batters along the way.

“To make the honorable mention team for baseball feels like a huge honor to me, especially considering how hockey is my main sport,” Simons said. “To achieve all-conference awards in two sports is super cool to me.”

“This honor will motivate me for next year because I know we lose some really good hitters,” he continued. “So I will have to do even better than I did this year in order for our team to have the success we are hopeful for.”
