3 local teams advance in football playoffs

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 24, Wausaukee 12
Max Peterson rushed for two touchdowns and Calvin Peters rushed for one score as Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy defeated Wausaukee 24-12 in their Level 1 playoff game.
Lena led 16-6 after the first quarter and added eight more in the second for a 24-6 halftime lead. Wausaukee scored six points in the third quarter, and that ended the scoring.
Peters rushed 20 times for 102 yards and also competed 2-of-6 passes for 35 yards. Peterson rushed eight times for 101 yards, and Tyler Shallow rushed eight times for 42 yards.
Shallow caught both of Peters’ passes.
The No. 1 seeded Lena team will host Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 7 p.m. Nov. 1.
Bonduel 35, Crandon 14
Bonduel advanced to Level 2 playoff action after a 35-14 win over Crandon in the Division 6 Level 1 game at Bonduel.
Colin Fischer rushed for three of the Bears scores. Ryan Westrich rushed for one Sam Roberts caught another.
Fischer carried the ball 12 times for 92 yards. He scored on runs of 7, 3 and 5 yards.
Cade Johnson completed 7-of-8 passes for 113 yards. He threw a 51-yard TD pass to Roberts, who caught a total of three balls for 66 yards.
Roberts also had one interception for Bonduel.
Crandon scored the first and last touchdowns in the game, but Bonduel sacred five in between.
The No. 2 seeded Bears will host Auburndale at 7 p.m. Nov. 1.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 48, Barron 0
Wittenberg-Birnamwood had little trouble making it past Level 1 playoff action, as the Chargers crushed Barron 48-0 at home.
The No. 4 seed Chargers will travel to St. Croix Falls on Nov. 1 for a Level 2 game.
Baldwin-Woodville 58, Oconto Falls 21
Oconto Falls ran into a buzz saw at Baldwin-Woodville and returned home after a 58-21 loss that ended their season.
It was a high scoring first quarter with 52 total points put up on the board.
Trailing 14-0, Isaac Bramer scored on a 34-yard run to bring the Panthers close at 14-7. The hosts rattled off two more touchdowns before Wyatt Laughrin returned a kickoff 92 yards to make in 30-14. Baldwin-Woodville scored one more time before the period ended, making the score 38-14.
Three touchdowns in the second and third quarters put the score at 58-14.
In the fourth quarter, Bramer scored on a 52-yard run, and the scoring ended at that point.
Bramer rushed eight times for 106 yards. Emerich Skarban completed 8-of-16 passes for 80 yards, and Bramer caught four passes for 37 yards.
The Panthers end the season at 8-2 overall and 6-1 (second place) in the Northwoods Conference.
Kaukauna 45, Pulaski 13
Pulaski’s 6-0 lead in the first quarter was the most the Division 2 Red Raiders could muster as they dropped a 45-13 Level 1 playoff game at Kaukauna.
Bohdan Schmidt scored on a 1-yard touchdown run at 6:24 to give Pulaski the early lead.
Kaukauna responded with 10 points in the second quarter and 21 in the third for 31-6 lead.
In the fourth, Spencer Hakes scored on a 64-yard run, and with the extra point, it was 31-14. But, two touchdowns by Kaukauna sealed the defeat for Pulaski.
Pulaski (5-5 overall and 4-3 in the Fox River Classic Conference-North) was led by Hakes’ 10 rushes for 112 yards. Ethan Schmidt completed 7-of-15 through the air for 31 yards. Bohdan Schmidt and Hakes each caught four balls for 13 yards.
