100 days before the election

To the editor:

We are 100 days from the Nov. 3 election, and the stakes could not be higher. Our country suffers under the leadership of President Trump and his bungled response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has failed America and Americans. Trump has negatively affected other facets of our state. He has gutted Wisconsin industries, attacked its workers, forced farmers out of business, and attempted to strip us of our health care. We suffer due to his craven incompetence.

In addition, Republicans in the Wisconsin state legislature are of no true help to the Wisconsin citizenry. At every chance they have blocked Gov. Evers attempts to keep people safe. There have been over 46,000 COVID-19 cases and almost 900 deaths in the Badger State, but Speaker Vos continues to push for early openings without following suggested guidelines. Most recently the Republicans held an in-person, indoor convention where masks were optional.

For the next 100 days Wisconsinites are committed to putting Joe Biden in the White House and putting an end to this corrupt, “me-seeking” administration. Now’s our chance to build a safe, equitable country, a strong economy for all workers at all levels, and a state that will once again be a progressive stronghold.

Respectfully submitted,
