‘Oklahoma’ auditions will be Dec. 26-27 in Abrams
Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. (ASPI) will hold auditions Dec. 26-27 for its spring musical, “Oklahoma!” to be presented March 14-17 and 21-24.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical tells the love story of Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a beautiful farm girl. This musical, directed by Ali Carlson, calls for a cast of 20 actors, age 12 and older. No stage experience is necessary to try out.
Individuals will have two opportunities to audition: 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 26 or Dec. 27 at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams.
Individuals who audition should be prepared to sing one minute of a song, preferably from a musical. They can sing a capella or play music on their phone.
The auditions will also include a reading from the script and a group choreography number, so comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Dance experience is a plus.
To save time and skip the line, individuals can complete the audition paperwork online at Abramstheater.com prior to arrival. If an in-person audition isn’t feasible, contact ASPI at 920-826-5852 or theater.aspi@gmail.com regarding an alternate time or a video audition.
Rehearsals start Jan. 2 and will mainly be held on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.

“Oklahoma!” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, www.concordtheatricals.com. The music is written by Richard Rodgers, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, and original choreography by Agnes de Mille.
The musical is based on the play “Green Grow the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs.
