Wild rice is a common staple among Native Americans who focus on living from the land, but it turns out that the food can also be used to make fun treats, as well.
Lucy Grignon, with the Ancient Roots Homestead in Bowler, developed it as part of a naturally tasty granola bar, combining it with honey, maple syrup, seeds and berries. She showed off the granola bars March 8 during the College of Menominee Nation’s winter farmers market.
