A Lena man who had been charged with 23 felony counts, including child sexual assault and other abuses of children, pleaded no contest to two felonies and a misdemeanor Oct. 25, averting what had been scheduled as a five-day trial in Oconto County Circuit Court.
Victor J. Alberts, 55, was being held on $1 million bond after being charged with three counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child, nine counts of child abuse, five counts of causing mental harm to a child and two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, among other related allegations.
