CoVantage patronage payments are largest to date
A record of over $5 million in patronage has been deposited into the accounts of members who borrowed and saved with CoVantage Credit Union. This is the largest patronage payment in the history of CoVantage Credit Union, and an $800,000 increase over what was provided to borrowers and savers for 2020. Patronage is a concept of giving back that originated among cooperatives many years ago.
NEW Media seeks participants for new food feature in 2022

‘Buckle Up’ holiday campaign returns after hiatus
Each Christmas and New Year’s holiday week, Grieves Chiropractic Clinic — in association with the Shawano Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, WTCH Radio and the Shawano Leader — presents the “Shawano Buckle Up for Bucks and Lives” campaign. At select Shawano locations, volunteers will give away cash and T-shirts to drivers using their seat belts.
Gresham ice rink awaits winter weather
Community resources came together in a hurry to establish an ice rink in downtown Gresham. Annette Ejnik, owner of Pa’s Ice Cream Shoppe on Main Street, recently purchased the old, rarely used volleyball court across the street from Pa’s. The autumn leaves had fallen, and she wanted to make use of the property for winter activities.
Christmas cantata returns to Gillett
For the first time in two years, there will be a Christmas cantata at St. John’s Lutheran Church (the “Clock Church”) at 101 W. Main Street in Gillett. An ecumenical choir will present a 45-minute musical celebration of “Christmas in His Presence” with singers and narration at four performances, two before Christmas: 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 7 p.m. Dec. 21. After Christmas there will be performances at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 and a final performance at 2 p.m.
Sobecks honored with Lions Community Service Award
Dan and Joan Sobeck were presented the Lena Lions Community Service Award by Lena Lion President Lisa Misco during the club’s annual Christmas banquet at the Holiday Inn Kelly Lake.
