Pulaski soccer season ends

Pulaski’s girls soccer season ended June 5 with a 2-1 loss to Nicolet in WIAA sectional action.

The Red Raiders were 4-2-3 in the regular season in the Fox River Classic Conference and 14-5-4 overall.

Veronica Decker led the team with 34 goals while Ellie Mangold had eight.

Leading with four assists was Brynlee Sturdivant. Sarah Johnson had three.

Pulaski captures regional title

Veronica Decker scored three goals as Pulaski shut out Watertown 5-0 to win the WIAA regional title June 1.

Sarah Johnson and Ellie Mangold each scored a goal for the Red Raiders, who now post a 14-4 overall record. All five goals came in the second half.

Sydney Hakes was the goalkeeper, and she made seven saves for Pulaski.

Pulaski is scheduled to play at Nicolet on June 6.

Pulaski soccer team wins regional game

Pulaski 3, Hortonville 0

In the first round of regional action, Pulaski defeated Hortonville 3-0.

The Red Raiders scored twice in the first half and once more in the second half.

The No. 3 seed Red Raiders will host No. 7 seed Watertown at 1 p.m. June 1.

Shawano shuts out Antigo in regular season finale

Shawano 10, Antigo 0

The Hawks soccer team concluded its regular season schedule with a non-conference home game and a benefit game for the Green Bay Veterans Manor. Many donations were made, both monetary and nonperishable food items, during the 10-0 win.

Trinity Popelka scored four goals for the Hawks. Darcie Erdmann, Amelia Klement and Kendall Knope each had a goal. Maddy Pyatskowit had a hat trick.

Green Bay East 2, Shawano 0

The Hawks battled hard but fell short in the last 87 seconds when Green Bay East put in two goals, one off a corner, another on a breakaway. Goalkeeper Brynlie Boyles had nine saves. Shawano had eight scoring attempts.

The Hawks’ record stands at 5-14.

Pulaski 0, Green Bay Southwest 0

For the second time this season, Pulaski played to a 0-0 tie. The Red Raiders have also tied two games at 1-1.

Shawano shuts out Green Bay West

Shawano shut out Green Bay West 9-0 for a Bay Conference win.

Caitlyn Moede scored the Hawks’ first goal off an assist from Trinity Popelka. Popelka would go on to finish the game with a natural hat trick.

Maddy Pyatskowit, Darcie Erdmann and Maddie Moesch also scored goals for the Hawks.

Pulaski 1, Green Bay Preble 1

For the third time this season, Pulaski’s girls soccer team played to a tie.

The latest was a 1-1 game against Green Bay Preble.

The Red Raiders played to a 1-1 tie against Sheboygan North on April 16 and had a 0-0 game against Kaukauna. All three ties were home games.

Shawano shuts down New London on Senior Night

Shawano 3, New London 0

The Hawks celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 Bay Conference victory over New London.

Darcie Erdmann scored the first goal, off an assist from Trinity Popelka, and the Hawks went into halftime with a 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs.

Late in the second half, Popelka scored two goals for the Hawks, one off an assist from Arica Preston, the other goal unassisted. Goalkeeper Brynlie Boyles had 10 saves for her fourth shutout of the season. The Hawks are 4-13.

Pulaski soccer team tops Manitowoc Lincoln

Stevens Point 6, Shawano 1

Stevens Point scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-1 home victory over Shawano.

Pulaski 1, Manitowoc Lincoln 0

Ellie Mangold scored Pulaski’s only goal, but that was enough for a 1-0 win over Manitowoc Lincoln.

Peighton Brandenburg made two saves for the Red Raiders.

Shawano soccer team shut out by Menasha

Shawano fell to 3-12 after a 7-0 Bay Conference loss to Menasha.

Goalkeeper Brynlie Boyles had 11 saves for the Hawks.
