Antigo/Polar pounds out 23 hits against Aniwa

Antigo/Polar had no problems making contact with the baseball, as the Bears rolled to a 19-5 win over Aniwa May 31 in a matchup of BABA North Division teams.

Logan Doering had four hits, Hunter Aiuppy, Reed Kuenzli and A.J. Kirsch added three each, and Mason Gray and Brady Renfro had two in a win over the Orioles.

Dan Michonski wins stock car feature race

Antigo’s Dylan Waldvogel started seventh and finished first in the 20-lap IMCA modifieds feature race at the Shawano Speedway on May 30.

Clintonville’s Lucas Lambries was second, and Wausau’s Marcus Yarie was third. Polesitter Jason Yeager, of Shawano, did not start.

Yarie and Wausau’s Kevin Feck won the heat races.

Shawano sends tennis player to state tournament

Three Shawano singles players and a doubles team made it to the Division 2 sectional round, and of those players advanced to the state tournament.

Number 1 singles player Enrique Omella Valls beat Chase Almlie of Osceola 6-1, 6-1, but then lost 6-3, 6-4 to Tegan Schott of Aquinas. However, the first round win qualified him for state, the third Shawano state qualifier in four years. He also beat an Ashland player to finish third.

Chargers win regional softball title

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 14, Nekoosa 4

Wittenberg-Birnamwood erupted for 14 runs in the Division 3 regional title game and advanced to sectional play.

Rory Salvesen hit 4-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and two run scored.

Kendall Lex hit 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Kennedy Benbo was also 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Lena, Pulaski, Tigerton win opening baseball regional games

Action in the Division 4 regional opened with No. 6 Lena topping No. 11 Bowler.

Pulaski 7, Menasha 3

Trailing 3-2 after five innings, Pulaski exploded for five runs in the sixth inning to claim the win in the opening round of its Division 1 regional.

Pulaski soccer team wins in shutout

Pulaski 2, Manitowoc Lincoln 0

Sophomore Tatum Wentland had a pair of saves in Pulaski’s 2-0 shutout over Manitowoc Lincoln.

The Red Raiders improved to 8-5-5, and the Ships sank to 8-9-3.

Pulaski golf team advances to sectional round

Division 1, Notre Dame (Green Bay) Regional

Pulaski golfers advanced to the sectional round after placing third in regional action at Thornberry Creek at Oneida in Hobart.

The Red Raiders ended the day with a 325. All four golfers placed in the top 11.

Scoring were Ethan Berger at 79, Brady Hayward at 80, and Bradin Schultz and Casey Madlem at 83 each.
