Panthers advance to golf sectionals

May 28 Division 2, New London Two Oconto Falls golfers finished in the top four as the team advanced to sectional action after regional play at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London. Oconto Falls placed second overall with a team score of 341. Wittenberg-Birnamwood was sixth with 376, and Menominee Nation/Gresham was eighth with 380. Kadyn Riel led the Panthers with 76, and Dylan Clark had 81. Carson McDermid carded 89, and Brock McDermid had 95. Will Allen also carded a 106. Menominee Nation/Gresham’s Anik Corn scored an 89 and qualified for sectionals as an individual competitor. Also scoring were Allex Mahl with 95, Gabe Boivin with 96 and Elliott Penass with 100. Wittenberg-Birnamwood was led by Nick Flak with 93. He was joined by Jaden Clark and George Seegmiller with 94 each and Carson Klinner had 95. Roman Johnson carded a 113. May 27 Division 1 Green Bay Preble Regional Pulaski senior Dixon Holewinski carded a 74, four strokes off the lead at the Royal Scot Golf Course in New Franken, to pace the Red Raiders and lead them to sectional competition. Team scores were Notre Dame 298, Bay Port 307, Pulaski 327, Green Bay Preble 331, Shawano 355 and Ashwaubenon 357. Also scoring for Pulaski were Bradin Schultz with 82, Brady Hayward with 85 and Casey Medlam with 86. Nathan Jossie also scored a 90. Scoring for Shawano were Blake Knope with 83, T.J. Smith with 89, Brayden Mead with 91 and Jakob Stuhr with 92. Duane Gristeau-Blanche also carded a 162. Knope and Smith qualified for sectionals as individuals. Division 3 Oneida Nation Regional Bonduel and Lena golf teams advanced to sectional action after finishing in the top four at Thornberry Creek in Hobart. Team scores were St. Mary Catholic 351, Bonduel 358, Lena 362, Oconto 382, Coleman 402, Gillett 416 and Oneida Nation 417. Bonduel’s Jaxon Bogacz and Colin Fischer, and St. Mary Catholic’s Charlie Whaley each carded an 81. Also scoring for the Bears were Cole Westphal with 92 and Cory Wussow with 104. Cameron Schroeder also carded a 119. Lena’s scores were Cooper Demmith with 86, Mason Belongia with 89, Mason Spice with 89 and Tanner Behnke with 98. Vande Turecek also carded a 99. Gillett was led by Parker Jenerou with 100. He was joined by Katelyn Sturm with 101, Jesse DeBauch with 103 and Brady Holla with 112. Brandon Slatky also carded a 130. Jenerou also qualified as an individual.
