Third grade students at Sacred Heart Catholic School recently took their learning outdoors during an exciting science scavenger hunt around the school campus.
The hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to explore areas beyond the classroom, including the blacktop and playground, while observing the natural world around them. Armed with curiosity and enthusiasm, students searched for signs of life and discovered a variety of insects and creatures — including ants, beetles and moths, as well as intricate spider webs.
The scavenger hunt provided an engaging way to connect science lessons with real-world observation. Students were excited to investigate their surroundings, ask questions and learn more about the living organisms that share their environment.
By combining outdoor exploration with scientific discovery, the activity encouraged curiosity, teamwork and a deeper appreciation for nature.
