Menominee County has a piece of land about 1½ acres in size that it wants to utilize, and it’s turning to residents to determine what will be the best use for the property.

Members of the boards governing the Shawano city and county housing authorities have opted not to merge together — at least not now.

Todd Buettner is planning to retire in the next several months as the executive director of the Shawano City Housing Authority, which led some at the Housing Authority of Shawano County to consider a merger of the two organizations.

For years, Bryan Gibson toed the line between his two passions of law enforcement and IT. Now, he uses those skills interchangeably on a regular basis for the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.

Gibson recently transferred from the county’s IT department to the sheriff’s department to serve as the new evidence specialist. He replaces Ann Holcomb, who retired.
