Ralph R. Armitage, 83, of Cecil, passed away with his wife by his side, on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. Ralph was born on July 23, 1936, to the late Ervin and Ethel (Scarsbrough) Armitage in Underhill. He served in the United States Air Force and on Oct. 9, 1970, he was united in marriage to Alice (Kramer) Kelly in Green Bay.
Together the couple raised five children. Ralph was a devoted and doting husband and a loving father. He had a heart of gold and was a jack of all trades. He was always willing and able to help family, friends and neighbors when needed. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing slots at the casino and playing Santa around Christmas time.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice; children, Mary (Don) Jeske-Miller, of Cecil, Connie (Glenn) Beattie, of Kiel, Robert Kelly Jr., of Evansville, Michael (Therese) Kelly, of Black Creek, and Brenda Myers, of Bonduel; grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Joshua, Adam, Robert, Isaac, Jenna, Bobby, Amber, Dakota, Nathan, Brooke, Scott, Shannon, Brittney and Dakota; great-grandchildren, Julian, Shawn, Hailee, Alex, Leighanna, Lyndsey, Mariah and Robbie; a godson, Timm Barth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Dorothy Kramer, Margaret Foth, Mary Wichman, Patty Kramer, Carol Jean Barth, Rosemary Kramer and Charles and Shirley Kramer.
He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Claude Armitage, Francis (Walter) Miller, Alice (Harvey) Elsner, Rosemary VanVoorhis, and James (Helen) Armitage; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clara and Edwin Kramer; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Margie Kramer, Damon Foth, Ronald Wichman, Raymond Kramer, Dennis Barth and Edwin Kramer.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil with the Rev. Scott Valentyn officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Stephensville. Military honors will be conducted at the church following the mass. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
