Honey Soul Collectives Co., located at 144 S. Main St. in downtown Shawano, opened its storefront business Sept. 27, 2025.
Owner Tiana Fritsch offers a variety of unique clothing for men, women and children, shoes and accessories, as well as faith-inspired gifts. Growing up in the Fox Valley, Fritsch always noticed the boutiques on College Avenue and thought it would be fun to start her own boutique someday, not knowing it would actually happen and in a very non-traditional way.
In December 2023, she lost her brother, Michael, to suicide.
“My brother was very close with Jesus, spreading his word anywhere he went, always reminding everyone that Jesus loved them,” Fritsch said. “Reading the Bible multiple times, he knew scripture well.”
When Fritsch heard the news of her brother’s death, it shook her to her core and was nonsensical. Still to this day, she struggles with the “why.” Some time after his death, picking up her Bible, she read for herself and understood for the first time that she actually knew Jesus, not just knowing about him. Meeting her in the very beginning and in the midst of her grief, she knows that Jesus has held her in his hands every day since.
“God placed it in my heart to pick up where my brother left off and continue to be a vessel,” Fritsch said. “With opening this boutique, I have been able to meet so many other brothers and sisters in Christ. I am happy to share that since opening our doors we have sold three Bibles so far.”
Previously working in child care for five years, she stayed home when her first son was born. When he was 9 months old, Fritsch began pursuing a nursing degree. Completing nursing school in the midst of having another child, she ultimately graduated and earned a nursing degree.
Her brother’s untimely death jumpstarted Fritsch into pursuing her dream of her own boutique, with the intention of promoting a faith-based business. Starting primarily online April 22, 2024, she then set the plans in motion to move to a storefront property on Shawano’s Main Street.
A long-range goal is to build up her location in Shawano, perfect and engage more on her website and social media pages and in God’s timing, open a second storefront location. Currently, she is running the shop herself but is in the process of hiring her first employee.
“I sent out an offer, so I am anticipating an acceptance. I’m very excited to bring others along with me to share my dream,” said Fritsch.
Honey Soul is involved with an upcoming event called Love Your Local, to be held in Shawano on Feb. 14, with the store offering various specials. Patrons are encouraged to shop locally to help Shawano’s entrepreneurs.
Also, Fritsch is participating in an event called “If: Shawano” to be held March 6-7 at Hope Community Church at 302 Tristan Drive, Shawano. This event aims to bring women together in faith, community and purpose. Fritsch will have merchandise for sale there.
Married to husband Freeman, together they have three children, Brantley, 5; Everly, 3; and Bennett, 5 months. Freeman hung the majority of his wife’s shelves and racks in the store and along with other family members, helps, encourages and supports her in any and every way needed.
“I am an imperfect person just trying to become a better human — mom, wife, sister, friend — every day,” Fritsch said. “I fall down sometimes and make mistakes, but God is so good and his mercies are new every day. Life can be hard at times, but what gets me through is knowing I’m one step closer to living in God’s presence every day for eternity with the people I love most.
