OCONTO FALLS — Oconto Falls High School’s Natalie Brauer and Samantha Coron came into the fall season as the known leaders for the volleyball team. They didn’t disappoint with their play.

Both seniors were honored by the North Eastern Conference, with Brauer being a unanimous first-team selection and Coron landing on the second team.

Brauer earned the first-team selection for her all-around play on the court, but she did most of her work at the net.

She led the team with 352 attack kills on the season to go along with 45 total blocks.

“Getting unanimous first team all-conference is a huge accomplishment to me. Personally, it shows that all my hard work has showed, as well as many coaches acknowledging it. I am very proud of myself for this award,” said Brauer.

“I would like to thank my coaches for always helping me become the player I am today. They have shaped me not only into a player, but have shaped my personality, too. Without them always pushing me to become a better person and player, I wouldn’t be who I am.”

Brauer, who also made the all-conference first team as a junior, finished third on the team with 179 digs, while also serving 31 aces.

Coron was tabbed to an all-conference team for the first time in her high school career.

“Receiving second team all-conference is more of an honor for me personally because out of all of the talent and players in the conference, I was fortunate enough to be noticed,” said Coron.

She was labeled as a setter but did just about everything possible for the Panthers.

Coron led the team with 237 digs and 713 assists.

Coron also totaled 31 blocks, 49 serving aces and 83 attack kills.

“It’s very special receiving this honor as a senior because it’s been a great four years,” Coron said. “Knowing that I made an all-conference second team makes it a meaningful ending to my high school volleyball career.”

Oconto Falls finished with a 3-6 record in the NEC before earning a postseason win over Wrightstown.

The Panthers were eliminated by Luxemburg-Casco, the second-place finishers in the conference that also won the Division 2 state title Saturday.

Brauer and Coron were also honored as co-MVPs when Oconto Falls handed out team awards.

Junior Amelia Rice was named the Most Improved Player, while Brauer won the Serving Award.
