Two people were killed and another seriously injured Thursday in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 141 in Lena.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened when a sport-utility vehicle driven by Sande Walker, 59, of Oconto Falls, was traveling north in the southbound lanes when it collided with a southbound truck about a quarter-mile north of County Road A near the on ramp.

Emergency dispatch logs indicate the call came in at 5:36 p.m.

Walker and the truck driver, Marvin Lueneburg, 73, of De Pere died at the scene, the department said.

A passenger in the truck, a 70-year-old De Pere woman, was taken to an area hospital.

The highway was closed for about two hours as deputies investigated the crash and cleared the scene.

A secondary crash involving two vehicles occurred as a result of the first accident. No one was injured in the second crash.
