Gillett boys 3rd, girls 4th at invitational

The Gillett boys placed third with a score of 78 at the Notre Dame Academy Invitational on Friday in Green Bay. The Gillett girls posted a score of 74 and took fourth.

Derek Hanson led the boys team with a third-place finish in 17 minutes, 0.4 seconds. Evan Peterson (18:08) placed 10th. Wyatt Wilz (22:32.2), Garrett Klein (23:42) and Grayson Klein (24:56.9) were the team's other three runners, finishing 23rd, 26th and 27th, respectively.

Ryann Wagner (20:53.3) was the Gillett girls top finisher, taking ninth. Sylvia Hansen (21:17) and Carleigh Kaczarek (21:27.9) weren't too far behind, placing 11th and 13th, respectively. Alaina Herzog (23:29.2) and Megan Wagner (23:33.4) were the team's next two finishers, earning 21st and 22nd, respectively.

Boys team scores: 1. Notre Dame Academy 26; 2. Winneconne 57; 3. Gillett 78; 4. Lourdes Academy 84.

Girls team scores: 1. Notre Dame Academy 24; 2. Lourdes Academy 58; 3. Winneconne 67; 4. Gillett 74.

Falls' Adams places first in NEC meet

Oconto Falls' Joe Adams posted a time of 17:43 to take first in the boys race at a North Eastern Conference triangular meet on Friday in Oconto Falls.

The Oconto Falls boys finished second with a score of 49, behind Wrightstown (21). Marinette didn't qualify for a score. The Oconto Falls girls also took second with a score of 46, ahead of Wrightstown (60) but behind Marinette (25).

Braden Uelmen (19:40) placed eighth for the boys, while Grant Yuma (20:07) and Aidan Stary (20:56) finished 10th and 11th, respectively. Landon Budz (22:34) was the team's fifth finisher, coming in 17th.

Hannah Ludemann (22:36) and Alexis Euclide (24:19) were the top-two finishers for the Oconto Falls girls team, finishing third and seventh, respectively. Maddy Przybylski (25:30), Sydney Bell (26:06) and Aspen Canavera (26:38) capped the team score, taking 10th, 12th and 14th, respectively.
