Shawano track and field teams 1st at Bay quad

The Shawano Community High School boys and girls track and field teams each placed first at a Bay Conference quad on May 3 in Green Bay.

The boys team accumulated 112 points, while the girls scored 108 points.

Elliott Lowney placed first in three events to lead the Shawano boys. He won the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1 inch. Lowney also won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, with times of 11.32 seconds and 22.9 seconds, respectively.

Jackson Smits claimed first in the shot put (39-8) and discus (145-0) for the Hawks. Riley Siegfried was the top finisher in the pole vault (10-6), Will Chelberg was first in the 1,600 (4:43.73) and Brandon Reed placed first in the 110 hurdles (17.88).

Drake Herm, Jayden Pinero, Lucas Nuthals and Logan Korth teamed up for first place in the 4x100 relay (47.93). Alec White, Connor Chelberg, Andon Chelberg and Jaymin Boivin formed the first-place finishing 4x400 relay (3:52.29).

On the girls side, it was Isabel Roloff leading the way. She won the 100 (12.87), 200 (27.61) and pole vault (10-6).

Grace Chelberg was the top finisher in the 800 (2:32.08) and 1,600 (5:38.21) and teamed up with Grace Beyer, Adalyn Barkley and Lily Guenther for first in the 4x400 (4:32.54).

Piper Novitski placed first in the 100 hurdles (17.99) and Makenna Bubolz won the long jump (16-0¼).
