Shawano boys tennis team drops dual to FVL
The Shawano Community High School boys tennis team dropped a Bay Conference dual against Fox Valley Lutheran on May 2 in Shawano.
Shawano's No. 1 and 2 doubles teams both picked up wins in the team's 5-2 setback.
George Buerman and Tristan Sheldon earned the win at No. 1 doubles for the Hawks, topping FVL's Jonah Uhlenbrauk and Aidan Mattek in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Tristan Tetting and Isaac Welander got the win at No. 2 doubles for Shawano, but needed to rally to do so. They won 4-6, 6-2, 10-2 over Jack Breiland and Owen Olsen.
The No. 3 doubles match was also a back-and-forth battle. Shawano's Seth Williams and Andrew Vandenheuvel lost 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 to FVL's Peter Wolfgramm and Carson Motowski.
Shawano's four singles players all lost in straight sets.
Ben Langlois fell 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles action to Eli Stern. Ryan Buerman was topped 6-0, 6-0 by Christian Monigal in No. 2 action.
At No. 3 singles, Shawano's Tybault Tousch dropped a 6-2, 6-0 match to Will Olson. Christian Hernandez lost 6-1, 6-1 to Ben Haupt at No. 4 singles.
