Salvation Army in need of bell ringers

The Salvation Army of Shawano County is in need of volunteers to ring bells during the Red Kettle Campaign, which runs through Christmas Eve.

The bell ringing stations are located at Charlie’s County Market, Qualheim’s True Value and at each Walmart entry. Ringing takes place on Fridays and Saturdays during the season from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and are scheduled in two-hour increments, except for Walmart locations, which are scheduled in one-hour increments. Any person of any age can ring bells.

To sign up for a shift, simply log on to www.registertoring.com, and then enter Shawano’s ZIP code, choose a date, pick the city of Shawano and choose a site location.

All donations made in Shawano County stay in the community to help families in need with financial assistance such as rent, utility bills, transportation needs and medical bills. Individuals meet with a representative of Salvation Army to discuss their options.

The only way the Salvation Army will be able to help those in need is if it fills its bell-ringing spots. For information, call Jen Bisterfeldt at 715-853-6456.
