Rogowski dominates at CWC-Large Meet

Bears, Eagles also have 1st-place finishers

The Bonduel, Menominee Indian and Wittenberg-Birnamwood track and field teams all participated in the Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division Meet on May 12 in Rosholt, with each team having some top finishers.

Reese Rogowski showed why she's one of the top track and field athletes in the state and helped the girls team take fifth at the conference meet after scoring 73 points. The boys team placed 10th with 11 points.

Bonduel's girls team placed sixth with 62 points, while the boys were eighth with 44 points. Menominee Indian's girls team finished eighth after scoring 32½ points, while the boys were ninth with 32 points.

Rogowski won four individual events on the day.

Rogowski was the top finisher in the 100-meter dash (12.45 seconds), 200 (26.3), 400 (58.95) and long jump (17 feet).

Faith Resch also earned a top finish for the girls team, doing so in the 300 hurdles (45.7). She placed second in the 100 hurdles (16.78).

Alex Centeno led the Witt-Birn boys with a fifth-place finish in the 400 (54.19).

The Bonduel girls 4x800 relay team of Kendra Troxel, Cierra Schnell, Mariah Wondra and Ashlyn Kurey had the team's lone top finish at the conference meet. The quartet posted a time of 10:43.02.

Individually, Wondra placed second in the 1,600 (5:38.46) and 3,200 (12:11.79). Kurey grabbed second in the triple jump (32-0), while Josie Anvelink took third in the shot put (31-5½).

Anvelink was also on the third-place finishing 4x100 (55.01) and 4x200 (1:54.99) relay teams for the Bears. Rachyl Hutter, Olivia Giese and Anna Beaumier filled out the 4x100 team, while Beaumier, Troxel and Karlee Ziemer were the other three runners on the 4x200 team.

The Bonduel boys were led by Ryan Westrich, who placed second in the shot put (46-8¼) and third in the discus (129-5).

Westrich was also part of the third-place finishing 4x200 relay team (1:37.2). Sam Roberts, Karter Schroeder and Louis Hrabik filled out the team.

The Menominee Indian boys team was led by a first-place finish from Ali Davenport in the 100 (11.14).

The girls 4x100 team of Urijah Reevis, Madeline Tomow, Emma Komanekin and Alexis Zhuckkahosee placed first in 53.94 seconds.

Barron Waupoose claimed second in the boys 400 (52.09), while Davenport was third in the 200 (23.51). Emma Komanekin finished third in the triple jump (31-6½).
