Plug In To Health looks at COVID-19 issues

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, so does new knowledge about the virus and its impact on our communities. As part of a larger effort to help keep people healthy, safe and informed, Prevea has released two new episodes of its podcast, Plug in to Health.

The following episodes of Plug in to Health, and more, are available to anyone at www.prevea.com/podcast and on all major podcasting platforms including Apple and Spotify:

• COVID-19 – The Risks and Impacts of Long COVID: There are many risks associated with a COVID-19 infection, the most serious being death. While most will not die from a COVID infection, millions around the world have and millions more have gone on to develop what is commonly known as Long COVID.

It’s a condition serious enough that health care systems around the world are dedicating resources to treating and researching it. That includes Prevea Health, which developed the Prevea COVID Recovery Clinic in early 2021. On this episode, medical director of the Prevea COVID Recovery Clinic and family medicine physician, Dr. Katrina Severance, talks about Long COVID symptoms, treatment options and the impact it is having on people in our communities.

• COVID-19 – At-Home Testing Testing for COVID-19 remains critical to curbing the spread of the virus in our communities. Like many other aspects of the pandemic, testing continues to evolve including the use of at-home testing kits or self-testing. How does it work? How reliable is it, and when should you consider taking one? Dr. Ashok Rai, president and CEO of Prevea Health, and a practicing physician closely monitoring the pandemic, answers these questions and more in this episode.
