Oconto Youth Football receives Bond grant

The Leon H. and Clymene M. Bond Foundation Inc. has granted Oconto Youth Football a $9,600 grant toward the purchase of new helmets.

“Their support will make a significant impact on our program and help us provide a safer and rewarding experience for all of our young athletes,” said Paul Retzlaff of the organization’s board of directors. “The $9,600 will go towards new helmets to surely help ensure the safety of the players. With their help, we can better protect our kids as they play the sport.”

The Bond Foundation is a family-endowed organization committed to the growth and improvement of Oconto County and surrounding areas, established in 1993 by Leon Bond, founder of the Bond Pickle Co., and Earl DeCloux.

The majority of grants and funding awarded by the Foundation are in the areas of health, education, social services, arts and culture, conservation and historic preservation, and community and recreational development.
