Proceedings of April 15

A four-day jury trial starting Sept. 21 was scheduled for Victor J. Alberts, 54, who is charged with 24 felonies, including three counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child, nine counts of child abuse, five counts of causing mental harm to a child and two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, among other related charges that allegedly occurred from 2005 to 2016, as well as two counts of felony child abuse and four counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, for incidents that allegedly occurred Dec. 1, 2019, and Jan. 17, 2020. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Sept. 7.

A two-day trial starting Aug. 31 was scheduled for Joshua L. Dickinson, 44, Portage, on a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child, in connection with incidents alleged to have occurred in 2015. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Aug. 16.

A July 20 jury trial was scheduled for Fred Benjamin Larsen, 30, Marion, on two counts of theft in a business setting, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred Sept. 30 and Dec. 1, 2019. A final pre-trial conference was set for July 1.

Michael Allen Maleport, 31, Green Bay, pleaded not guilty to two counts of substantial battery, as well as misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 25. A jury trial was scheduled for Oct. 28, with a final pre-trial conference set for Oct. 7.

Bradd K. Steeno, 49, Green Bay, pleaded not guilty to charges of battery to a law officer, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 10. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 13.

Daryl L. Upton, 41, Cecil, pleaded not guilty to charges of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 20. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 13.

An Oct. 28 jury trial was scheduled for Christopher Thomas VanDenElzen, 47, Green Bay, who is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 31. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Oct. 7.

Gary Lamont Montgomery, 38, Amberg, pleaded not guilty to second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim, false imprisonment, and misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, battery, theft and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 12. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for June 17.

Julie A. Harteau, 63, Coleman, pleaded not guilty to possession of amphetamine (second or subsequent offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 18. A further arraignment was scheduled for May 13.

Jeremiah T. Irving, 25, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of methamphetamine (second and subsequent offense) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 18. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 13.

A bench warrant was authorized for Cheryl Lynn Beck, 45, Kenosha, after she was failed to appear to answer a charge of possession of narcotic drugs, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 29. Her $1,500 cash bond was revoked.

Proceedings of April 13

Edward A. LaRock, 35, Peshtigo, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for fleeing an officer in a vehicle, in connection with an incident that occurred May 17, 2020. Four related charges were dismissed but read into the record. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that LaRock is eligible for the substance abuse program, under which he may qualify for early release upon completion. During his extended supervision, he must maintain absolute sobriety and undergo an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment, following through with recommended treatment and/or counseling.

Kari A. Cooper, 45, Coleman, pleaded no contest to five counts of burglary to storage units, in connection with break-ins that occurred in April and May 2020. Five other counts were dismissed but read into the record in a plea agreement. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for July 1 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Tristen T. Brunette, 19, Oconto Falls, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court on 12 counts of possession of child pornography, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 3, and first-degree child sex assault — sexual contact with a person under age 13, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 8. Arraignment was scheduled for April 27.

Hunter R. Slayton, 24, Menominee, Michigan, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 7. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 13.

Alan L. Stock, 55, Oconto, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of negligent handling of burning materials, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 16. A felony charge of attempted arson was amended to the misdemeanor in a plea agreement. Judge James A. Morrison placed Stock in the Volunteers in Probation program for one year after imposing, then staying, a nine-month county jail term. During probation, he must maintain absolute sobriety and continue with core treatment services and any other counseling recommended by VIP.

Proceedings of April 12

Ian Matthew Weiss, 22, Gillett, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of misdemeanor bail jumping, and a felony charge of possession of THC (second or subsequent offense) was dismissed but read into the record, in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 30. Judge Jay N. Conley placed Weiss on one year of probation after imposing, then staying, a nine-month jail sentence. During probation, he must maintain absolute sobriety and full-time employment while following through with any recommended treatment or counseling. He was given credit for 42 days already served in the county jail.

David R. Riskus, 33, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to charges of felony bail jumping, five counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 28. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 13.
